Michael Welch is a Managing Director with Hamlin Harkins, Ltd. He possesses more than thirty years experience as a management consultant, engaging with senior executives in a variety of industries including retail, media and entertainment, telecommunications and technology. Michael leverages his unique business insight into strategy and operations, coupled with a broad range of financial experience to help client companies meet their goals through accelerated problem identification and creative resolution.

Prior to joining Hamlin Harkins, Ltd. Michael was a managing partner in Arthur Andersen’s Business Consulting practice, a firm he joined in 1970. Over the course of his career with Arthur Andersen, Mr. Welch was responsible for all aspects of the business including sales, marketing, new product development and delivery, customer service and satisfaction, and operations management. While a partner in the Business Consulting practice, his successful efforts contributed to compound annual growth in excess of 40% each year and supported the development of a wide range of special services including E-business (B2B, B2C), Integrated Customer Management, (ICM), and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).

Mr. Welch’s most recent responsibility was concentrated on the development of the Arthur Andersen business process outsourcing practice. Recognizing the need for companies to build scaleable infrastructure to support growth with effective operating structures, this practice serves startups, mid-market companies, and the Global 1000.

From 1994 until 1998, Mr. Welch specialized in Operational Consulting. His primary focus was to supervise and work with cross-functional teams to sharpen and refocus business strategies then develop the people, processes and technologies necessary to implement those strategies. The key performance indicators in the delivery of these services include reducing cost, improving quality and shortening timeframes for service delivery.

Throughout his career at Arthur Andersen, Mr. Welch has been recognized as an exceptional public speaker. From professional communication to executive management training, he has participated in a variety of training and educational seminars. In addition, Michael has been a frequent keynote speaker and panelist at leading industry conferences. Mr. Welch graduated from the University of Kansas with degrees in Business and Accounting. He is a CPA and a member of the AICPA.
