Cindy Brown
is a Managing Director at Hamlin Harkins, Ltd. She has over 25 years
of proven success in corporate finance, with an emphasis in Global
1000 consumer product and entertainment companies. Applying her
signature pragmatic, problem-solving approach, Cindy has successfully
driven information system reengineering projects and crafted financial
turnaround and investment strategies at a variety companies over
the course of her career .
Prior to joining
Hamlin Harkins, Ltd., Ms. Brown was a member of the management team
of an Internet incubator MG Services, LLC. There she served as Chief
Executive Officer of Texas Internet Processing Services, Inc. and
Agape Media Inc. and served as Chief Financial Officer for six distinct
incubator companies simultaneously. As such, she was responsible
for the complete lifecycle management of large-scale start-ups including:
drafting strategic business plans, recruiting, hiring & training
executives and employees, short and long-range financial planning,
private placement memorandums, securing financing on favorable terms,
mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, consulting and related
activities designed to take a company from inception to divestiture
.
From 1996 to
1998 Ms. Brown was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer for the domestic retail division of Blockbuster Entertainment
Group. There Ms. Brown was responsible for the overall financial
health and development of over 4,000 music and video outlets nationwide.
From 1980 to
1996, Ms. Brown held various positions at the Dr Pepper Company,
most recently as the Vice President of Information Services where
she was responsible for the overall design, development and management
of a fully integrated, multi-platform management information system,
data warehouse and decision support system.
In early 1993,
Ms. Brown led the finance and accounting team through a highly successful
initial public offering. She also was responsible for all accounting
functions, merger and acquisition activity, debt placement and management,
banking and Wall Street analyst relationships, investor relations
and planning processes. Between 1988 and 1992, Ms. Brown was the
Vice President of Finance. In this position, she initiated preferred
stock offerings, mezzanine debt placements, and debt financings
totaling $9.7 billion.
A Certified
Public Accountant, Ms. Brown serves on the Board of Directors for
The Assistance League. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in
accounting from St. Leo University and a Master of Business Administration
in economics and finance from Amberton University.
